Level 1 General Principles Coaching Course (click on link)

NSW Sport and Recreation are currently running Level 1 General Principles for teachers,

teacher’s aide, coaches, parents, sports administrators, managers and physical activity

providers. The Level 1 General Principles provides a basic guide to coaching and

equips coaches with confidence, skills and knowledge to coach beginner level.

These three hour workshops are conducted by highly motivated and experienced presenters

at a fee of $88 (including GST), Participants will receive :

Beginner coaching manual
Beginner coach workbook
Course delivery
certificate

The course covers, the role of coaching, communication, drugs in sport, planning, physical

conditioning, sports psychology, teaching skills, sports safety, development of the athlete,

group management and nutrition.

Please be aware that the Australian Sports Commission has developed an internet resource for the beginner Coach and Official. This may be another useful resource that our sport can utilise to help in the ongoing process of Sport Development.

In other news the ASC has been working in conjunction with the Active After Schools Network to develop a free online training tool. This tool is the evolution of the old General Principles of Coaching Level 1, now know as the Beginning Coaching Principles. The date of completion for this task is looking like July 06.
